K.Dot…. I remember where I was when I heard King Kunta for the first time. This album is jazz-funk forward and explores vulnerable afrocentric themes. I feel like TPAB is Kendrick’s album that did the most for Black culture. It was unapologetically black and solidified his spot as one of the greatest rappers of the 2010’s. I’ve always appreciated Kendrick’s ability to tell stories through music and he does it well here. I mean… George Clinton AND Thundercat are features- what is not to love?!
