This album dropped the day I started grad school! They always seem to know when I need them most. Breach kinda lacks a standalone identity apart from Trench and Clancy, but read in conjunction with those two, it’s a stellar tøp album. Revisits some of those pre-Blurryface themes with a renewed interest and a sense of nostalgia. Fills out Clancy’s hopeful undertones and commitment to finding meaning in the cycle. Enhances the torchbearer/clancy dynamic that points to love as a lifeline despite its inevitable failures. Lives in my mind rent free.

unfortunately tøp was never a phase for me. although this is the newest album, it’s so nostalgic for some reason. been one of my favorites of theirs. it’s the end of the storyline and an end of an era for them.
